PRACTICE

Bare Architects is a small, sustainably focused architect practice in South West Australia.

We acknowledge the ecological responsibility of building. When we build, we build in a way that serves generations, contributes positively to the context and honours the landscape of which it borrows.

Bare Architects are inspired by the barefoot architects; our First Nation Peoples across the globe who applied fundamental physics to designing and building. We can build smarter, when we work with the forces of nature.

The practice is led by Matilda Brealey, from a home office in a little town called Carbunup River, around three hours south of Perth. Matilda graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2014, and has been residing and working in the South West ever since. Matilda is a registered architect, a creative, novice surfer, bush walker, and mother.
